Witchcraft or black magic is an occult practice that calls on the power of the devil to do evil things. Bad witches know what they are doing and intentionally want to hurt people. When a person is attacked by a witch intending to do them harm, it is like there is an invisible thickness that hovers all around them. It obscures their ability to control their thoughts or emotions and also to make clear decisions, which ultimately changes everything about these people. They feel the darkness but are unable to identify it. This evil consumes every part of these souls, and the freedom they once had is lost. Being attacked by witchcraft is like being locked up in a dark place with little hope of escape. There is great fear and confusion and they don’t know where to turn. But eventually, they will realize their suffering comes from the devil and that’s when the fight to regain their freedom will begin. Good witches claim to practice white magic or magic that doesn’t hurt anyone. They believe that they only use witchcraft for good. But that is impossible since all witchcraft is against God.
“I am the Lord your God: You shall not have other Gods besides me.”
Ex 20:3
People who profess to be “good” witches (and maybe bad ones too) use trees, herbs, and other plants to create potions and spells to use for themselves or against others. But it doesn’t stop there. These incantations and concoctions are just the hooks the devil uses to reel them in. When these spells and potions are successful, it gives these witches a sense of power. Then they become emboldened and delve deeper into the occult to feed their curiosity and increase their magical skills. But it’s all a lie from the devil. Witchcraft uses evil to force one person’s will upon another. It doesn’t matter what a so-called good witch believes, this is just a fact. Witches can never be good because they look for power and knowledge from sources other than God. It is idolatry, which is a sin against the first commandment.
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry”
1 Samuel 15:23
Witches get their power directly from Satan. Whether they consider themselves good or bad doesn’t matter. Their powers don’t come from their ancestors who claimed to be witches. And they don’t come from the earth or some form of energy. The spells they cast and the power they wield comes straight from hell. And the spirits they call upon are demons, plain and simple. Just because they think their intentions are good doesn’t mean they are. If a witch casts a love spell on someone who has no interest in them, then they are forcing their will on another person without their knowledge or permission. So they are using witchcraft on unsuspecting people to fulfill their desires. How is that good or real? It isn’t.
“Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and his mighty power. Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil. Our battle is not against human forces but against the principalities and powers, the rulers of this world of darkness, the evil spirits in regions above.”
Eph 6:12
Witchcraft is the practice of magic or sorcery. Magic is (defined as) the use of means (such as charms or spells) believed to have supernatural power over natural forces. Sorcery is (defined as) the use of power gained from the assistance or control of evil spirits, especially for divining. Divining is to have supernatural or magical insight into future events. These definitions are clear. People who perform these occult practices must have some idea that what they are doing is wrong, yet they still choose to practice magic. They use witchcraft to take what they want. It is about having control and power over people and things. So whether a witch considers themselves good or bad, they use witchcraft to profit personally and sometimes financially from their actions while corrupting other people in the process. Does this sound good? I don’t think so.
“As for the cowards and traitors to the faith, the depraved and murderers, the fornicators and sorcerers, the idol-worshipers and deceivers of every sort, their lot is the fiery pool of burning sulfur, the second death!”
Rev 21:8
People who use witchcraft are caught up in the devil’s trap, and he will take their souls if they don’t repent and turn away from their sin (as the scripture above states). So the idea that there are good witches who do no harm is ridiculous and false. It may not be as dark as those practicing black magic, but it still hurts other people, and it hurts them too. They have rejected God and sin against His people. So what if you come across someone who says they are a witch? Most likely, they won’t be practicing black magic because those who do, don’t want you to know they are witches. That would tip you off and they wouldn’t be as successful in their spiritual attacks against you. If you already know a witch or meet one, it is more likely they’re practicing what they believe is good magic. They could be co-workers, neighbors, and even family members. So what do you do if this happens? Pray for them and protect yourself and your family. This is just the prudent thing to do. These people are calling on evil spirits, so you must call on God who lives in you to defend yourself against the enemy who works through them.

We must ALWAYS have our weapon in hand . The Holy Rosary 📿. There is a definite battle out there , and in our homes. Thank God Wendy is not afraid to bring up a very uncomfortable discussion but a REAL one. Our Sacraments are soooo important and good HOLY Priests. Well written!
Dear Wendy
Thank you so much, I’m indebted to you. Your articles have been so helpful as I’ve been harassed for over 2 years by my neighbors. I moved into this area over 2 years now ago and ever since I’ve experienced horrendous attacks which you’ve helped me to identify as witchcraft. When I moved in I was approached by a neighbor. I thought at the time he was being so friendly. Each time he came I realized he just wanted to get to know about me not just get to know me. He mentioned over 40 years ago that he’d met me and delivered to me weekly juices. Each time he left me, I felt a bit of my mind had become vacant! Confused and feeling terrible energy coming off him I decided to keep my distance. Wasn’t too long until I experienced him watching my comings and goings, I challenged him one night about stalking me. I’m 62 and live alone, but it was mainly because each time I’d have to pass his garden he would just stare at me and I experienced all my grace, my energy had gone! I’d arrive home with headaches and nausea. I told him I’d be taking advice from the police. He responded disdainfully, but the tone of his voice was certain, they’d not do anything about it. I’ve subsequently found that the policeman is a friend of his. Stalking continues to this day and recently I have found 4 hand-size grey pieces of slate. Having read your articles, it gave me an idea it might be witchcraft possibly from him and his partner. She had an argument with me and told me “F…you and F… your God. I’m an atheist and he’s not my husband.” They’re both in their 70’s! I googled witchcraft and almost immediately a photo of slate appeared with scratches on it. They’re called curse tablets. Witches use them to cause harm to their victims. 4 of them I guess, may have represented me and my 3 daughters. I told a priest who wasn’t remotely interested, and he said to just throw them out. I took a photo of them. Binned them. Then I bought St Benedict medals had them blessed and prayed over my door and pebbled part of the garden where the slates appeared. As I threw the holy water, my goodness it was powerful. Felt so peaceful as the presence lifted from me. It confirmed for me it must be him and his partner. Since then another slate has appeared alongside two white marble stones. Also, They have smeared my name in this neighborhood no one speaks to me. I get harassed by my neighbor above me who is his friend. It’s been really tough going. I am thankful, because of them my faith in Jesus has developed and deepened. It’s tough not reacting to the man above. Today my daughter came to celebrate with her husband and grandchildren, it’s grandparent’s day. We had a lovely time and true to form the man upstairs slams his doors and windows when my family leaves. I want to be careful not to react in the same manner. My head is bursting with it all. He too is unreasonable. I’ve tried everything to get along with him but he’s abusive too. I can’t move away. The area I live in is also mainly Protestant and the man in question who stalks me is well known in the community for the voluntary work he does. I’m up against it. But the truth is more powerful it will come out and God certainly has delivered me from my enemies. I’m stronger and moved on. But my neighbors haven’t. Hope this isn’t too long. I live in Glasgow Scotland UK. Thanks again for taking time to share your posts I really appreciate that ! God bless !
Thank you Eileen for sharing your story. It is very hard I am sure. I will keep you in prayer.
